Enara is an orientation tool for cultural events in Venice: it helps you choose what to see and build a route between them.Boilerplate
Enara is an orientation tool for cultural events in Venice. It brings exhibitions and events with a start and an end date onto a single map, across visual arts, architecture, design, fashion and crafts, and lets visitors choose according to the time they have, distance and interests, and build a route. It is free for visitors. Organisers publish and manage their own listings. Enara is an independent project by Fabula Bureau, the design studio of Margherita Rubini.
The problem is not a lack of events. It is that information is scattered across dozens of websites, blogs, social profiles, newsletters and posters, and deciding where to go takes time. Enara brings it together and places it in the city: you find what you are looking for, see where it is on the map and build the route to get there, with whatever you come across along the way.

The route is personal and on foot, in two ways that can be combined. You can add a stop between one point and the next whenever you like.
The route can be shared with a link, opened in Google Maps or downloaded as a PDF. Each listing links to the event’s website, booking and directions.
You mark two points on the map: where you arrive and where you want to go. Enara works out a realistic distance and shows what lies in between. You don’t need to know in advance what to see.
If there are five things to see, they are linked into a single route on the map, and finding your way around the city becomes easier. If you then want to see something else between one point and the next, you add it.
Exhibitions and events with a start and an end date in the municipality of Venice, in the visual arts and architecture, with fashion, design and crafts linked to time-limited programmes. It does not include permanent venues, nor cinema, dance, music and theatre (for now).
It is not a tourist guide, a calendar or a list of events for sale. It does not rank events by popularity and does not decide for the people who use it: it gives a clear picture to choose from.
One listing for each exhibition or event. Organisers create and manage it themselves, after a one-off check of their organisation.
We measure how people find their way, not who they are. The data helps us understand how the cultural offer moves and spread attention more evenly.
Enara is an independent project by Fabula Bureau.

Margherita Rubini is a designer and the founder of Fabula Bureau, a studio based in mainland Venice working on visual identity, editorial design and wayfinding systems. She worked with leading studios in Milan and Venice before going independent in 2019. Her work has received a Compasso d’Oro mention for her degree thesis (2011), the SEGD Design Award (2010) and the Adobe Design Achievement Awards. She teaches Editorial Design at CFP Bauer.
She conceived Enara from an observation of method: in a city with many scattered events, the problem is not information but orientation.
